Remember me. The story behind the story (part 5)
The scope of reality.
Recently I was talking to a friend who asked me how much of reality and how much imagination in my novel and his question gave me the idea to make this post.
Painting by Konstantin RazumovIn Remember me, practically everything that appears is something real and tangible, each element I have carefully selected and, above all, thinking about a very broad plot, which covers much more than what has been written so far...
At this point I want to emphasize the artistic character that is imbricated at all times in my novel and that is evident both in the locations; the situations; the characteristics of some characters, such as the protagonist, Armony Heart, who is a violinist, etc... and this is because I want Remember me to have that magic that can only bring the beauty of art in all its different facets (and I refer to well-understood art, real art, as can be seen, for example, in these paintings by the artist Konstantin Razumov).

Painting by Konstantin RazumovI want to quote, in this precise moment, something that appears in Remember me already from the first pages and in the first chapter, Forgotten tears; It is a piece of music that is an old russian song, whose true origin is lost in time, called in russian Очи чёрные (phonetically Ochi chornye) and that can be translated into english as Dark eyes.
Why I have chosen this beautiful piece of music I still can not reveal it for two reasons: first, because it has an implication in the main plot that extends far beyond what any of you can imagine now and second, because the story how it was that I chose this song, it deserves a special post, since it is something very personal and magical in itself...
What I do want to do is to share here one of my favorite versions of Dark eyes, that I have heard it when I wrote Forgotten tears and that I am sure you will enjoy.
In the video you can hear how the great violinist André Rieu begins this concert in Dublin, Ireland with Dark eyes (from the time mark 0:32 to 3:32 of the video).
