Remember me. The story behind the story (part 9)
Christmas and new year...
Today I want to take advantage of the proximity of these parties because they are related to my novel.
Those who have read the first chapter of Remember me already know that it starts in the new year, minutes before the change of year. What they do not know is why I chose this special date for something as important as the beginning of a story.
As Armony Heart, the protagonist of Remember me, I have been raised in the catholic faith, since I was a child I celebrated religious holidays and I have always enjoyed the main one: Christmas.
At home I have always been the one who has armed the christmas tree and it is a task that has fascinated me since I was little, those twinkling lights, those special ornaments and sparkles, seeing the reflection of the images in the balls and mirrored ornaments that hang from the tree It's something that I still enjoy. So much so that I never want to disarm the tree that year and that work takes as long as I can...
That's why two of my characters: Armony Heart and Daphne Reef are so fond of this holiday.
All the preparations: the gifts; the christmas meals, with their special flavors and the music of the christmas carols, which are only heard on these dates, make every day of the month of Christmas special.
And the last day of December is the end of the year, which is like closing a chapter and starting the next... which is just what happens in Remember me, and that is precisely why it is that night when the first chapter begins. I like symbolic things and this is a symbol of those that I hide in my plot.

To culminate this blog entry, once again I will put a video of the talented and beautiful violinist Lindsey Stirling playing a classic christmas theme: "The sugar fairy dance" (from the ballet "The nutcracker" by Tchaikovsky).
Tchaikovsky, composer and musician Russian (1840-1893) put music to a story "The nutcracker and the king of mice", which tells the story of a girl named Clara, who on the eve before Christmas receives a magical gift: a nutcracker in the shape of a soldier in his uniform who, at night, comes alive and who, together with his soldiers, will defend her from the king of mice and his army. The nutcracker will finally turn out to be a prince who has been turned into a toy by a curse and will take Clara to the realm of sweets where they will be greeted by the sugar fairy.
